This is the render I had to make for my article "Creating a lush fantasy jungle" in 3D Artist magazine Issue 19. This time my task was to create a new scene which represents features in Avatar's Pandora, like the low mist and floating mountains. I needed to combine the elements of two of my works Mysteries of Another World and Land of the Na'vi; both inspired by Avatar.

In this scene I used QuadSpinner's Rock X material.

That purple plant at the bottom caught my attention most of all

there are some alien plants in Vue's library of trees that are a little like Pandora's ones...I noticed Pandora's most interesting plants were the medium-sized ones below the canopy...the larger tree's looked a lot more "normal"
