"Over and over
I felt so small
But one day I'll be stronger
And you better watch out"

Within Temptation - Overcome

...dumb title for a scene but right now I didn't have anything else in my mind :XD:
Just another practice on clouds, lighting etc... I used the same terrain I used in Without Wings ...it's pretty large so it's fine for scenes like this :D

Thanks for viewing!

Good work with the clouds and landscape. The trees in the foreground seem a little too green to me, but that's just my taste. ;)

All in all, another cool landscape with good choice of POV and lighting!

 that small human model I used is called Öcsi :D I got it from Laci (~Shadow-Trance) and once, after using him in a render, he asked what was the name of the guy, but since he had no name then, after some funny variations we agreed to call him Öcsi :XD: (means either younger bro or pal, buddy in Hungarian)

Really great sense of scale here, the cloud settings are perfect for the scene and it reminds me a bit of those early mornings on occasions my family would visit relative in the country where dense cloud-like fog filled the valleys...It was amazing :wow:

I like what =nukeation said about the light decay, but maybe for a dramatic sky-edge, try reducing the height of the decay while keeping it rather strong, it should make an awesome yellow/orange band along the horizon with a very clear and deep blue sky above 8-)

What throws me off is that faint puff of haze that appears right above that mountain :p but it might just be an artifact of the cloud layers =p

Beautiful I am amazed that, that's just cgi. I mean down in cornwall I saw views lijke that of hill sides and they took my breath away and relaxed my eyes then I look at your cgi image on an lcd screen and my eyes are relaxed and the breath gone from my lungs. You must be a magician.

Ooh! Nice scene!! Do I detect wispy clouds? :D

Btw, I don't mind the green trees - you can definitely find green trees way high up. What I want to know is how in heck is that guy breathing without an OXYGEN TANK!!?!?! :XD:

Small suggestion, if you don't mind, try pulling down the Decay Amount to under 50% (you may need to darken the scene in the Light tab). If you're this high up, the sky won't become this orange, nor will the lighting.

Still, love the render. Very cool! Keep it up! :)

yes lol, those are wispy *sneeze* clouds :lmao: ....ohh yeah I know there's vegetation up there, and trust me I've been to the Italian Alps (Bormio) several times in boot camp and I took part in tournaments there, much over 2000m high, and I didn't need oxygen tank :XD: really, it was fine
Thanks for the tip; I kinda didn't remember how the sunset looked like :D ...btw it's great to hear from you; I was starting to worry :XD:

some actually means a WHOLE piece. About 80 hours of work, I'd say. Sets me back 2 weeks. But its not the end of the world. I still have my notes, so not a problem. Just a delay.

the only non-realistic thing here is that plants doesnt grow that green at such high altitudes... i guess :o

but great scene, Drea

hahhaha I KNEW someone would mention this! ...now lemme tell u that the mountain is not high, the clouds are low :XD: ...okay, actually you're right, I don't think these trees grow on this high altitude, but now realism wasn't my goal....just worked as it came, then I put something to the foreground. That's all.
