Hi everyone

I went on a cool trip yesterday to a truly amazing place, and I wanted to tell how it was (incl. pictures), but right now I'm damn pissed cuz after some days of artists block, I finally had an inspiration for a scene in Vue....but after spending half a day composing the scene, I couldn't finish it bcuz it crashed all the time

...again, many-many thanks to ~
flightlevel-380 for his help

; we really tried our best to render the scene but it just didn't like neither my system, nor his

...so I'm too pissed to talk about the trip...later

But your work this week was more than awesome!!!

You can find my this week's best-of in this journal...check it!

Heyz..
Bad news, bad news.....I'm so sorry to say, but my beloved hamster, Apex Cordis Jr. has passed away yesterday

...yeah, I know he was "just a hamster", and I was kinda expecting this cuz he was very old (compared to hamsters) and less hyperactive, still it's so sad to see a little rodent dying

. Well, it's sure he's in a better place now. Let's hope he's having fun; he has a huge variety of hamster food, or he's smokin marijuana in the company of some dozens of hamster girls

...or he's watching what I'm typing from above, laughing his a$$ off and saying "what a good idea!!"

Whatever he's doing over there, may his soul rest in peace...

But I have good news too!! After sterilizing my deceased hamster's home, I decided to go to the mall and buy a new hamster

. And though they're in short supply lately, fortunately I found very cute Djungarian dwarf hamsters in the 1st shop I went in. after melting at the sight of those cute rodents, I noticed two very little dwarf hammies in the same terrarium. Two 6-week-old sibs, a little guy and a little girl. They were cuddling in a corner of the terrarium

...I never wanted to buy two hamsters, but I just couldn't separate them! Cuz it sux!! I thought it would be easier for them to get used to their new environment together, so I bought both of them

. Now they're here, still a bit shy, but they're getting used to their new home slowly...and they're together cuddling in their little house

And here come YOU!!

...I was thinking about a little contest

...though I have some ideas regarding their names, I still call them "little guy" and "little girl" lol, so I'm waiting for suggestions!! And I offer a prize for the best idea!!

...good luck!

Here they are; the little girl on the left, the little guy on the right

(sorry for the quality)

...aren't they cute??

And it sucks when your PC doesn't want to render your works - I'm so sorry to hear that!
yeah and I really hope I can get that better config soon
Hmm, so you say this blonde guy is "somewhat creepy" eh?
well, Vue doesn't really crash when I'm composing the scene, but when I start rendering on a better quality; at 1st it needs 130+ hours to render, then it becomes non-responsive or says it has run out of memory
Actually I need to wait one more monthly scholarship and I wanna buy a quadcore CPU and 8 GB RAM (and i'll need a new motherboard too)
Don't you try to convert the animation to a file dA supports? (bcuz it IS possible to upload video files/animations...it just takes longer lol). I'm sure many of us would like to see it
Mine mainly crashes because I do a lot of manual placing of trees, I let Ecosystems do the work on far off areas, but nearby, I want my trees to be laid out in a specific way, but moving such detailed objects on a weak laptop means that it can sometimes freeze up and crash
Hmm, I thought about converting those animations, I wouldn't know how lol, or what type of animation file it should be, they are currently quicktime movies, just over 700x500px in resolution, funny though - the 9 second animation that took 46 hours to render is only 31MB, but the 5 second one which took 7 hours to render is a whopping 160MB
lol don't worry about names anymore; they're called Leroy & Lenore
